Changes to Health Law
To all dental assistants in New York State:
There have been some changes to health laws that directly affect licensed and non licensed dental assistants. Beginning in January, anyone processing instruments (sterilization) in an article 28 or public health facility must have a certification in sterilization and do 10 hours of ce per year. If you are a licensed dental assistant (RDA) and are processing instruments you are practicing within your scope of practice.
