The AADSM was recently notified that as of early April Aetna will be limiting coverage for oral appliances for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.  This coverage decision does not reflect current evidence based practice and is a significant concern to our leadership.  We are in the process of taking several steps to contact Aetna and ensure that this policy is changed as soon as possible.  To ensure that our voice is heard, we may need to call on our members to send template letters to Aetna.  Please know that the academy is taking this issue seriously and will notify the membership of any changes in the future.
