As the year 2015 is quickly nearing an end, unfortunately oral cancer is not. We are sad to say that we will be updating our brochures, due to the increase in the statistics. The new cases of oral cancer of the oral cavity and pharynx have grown from 43,250 to 45,780. Late stage diagnosis grew from 63% to 69%, and the death from late stage diagnosis grew from 8,000 to 8,650. Oral cancers have now increased over a seven year period. The statistics do not lie. Screen your patients for oral cancer because it is the right thing to do.
